About

Mission and History

The Steuben Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force (STPPTF) was formed as a coalition of healthcare and human services professionals, educators and schools, and community volunteers, all dedicated to facilitating communication and awareness about teen pregnancy and STD prevention. By supporting county-wide efforts, the Task Force served as a broad-based, coordinated community effort to delay unintended teen pregnancy, combat the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases, and provide opportunities for networking, resource sharing, and professional development for those working with teens.

In 2012, the Steuben Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force undertook an overall transformation – launching a new name, logo, and purpose. The creation and implementation of INSPIRE surfaced from recognizing the need to expand the scope and reach of topics, initiatives, and collaborations encompassed by the task force.

Today, INSPIRE is a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to facilitating communication and awareness regarding teen reproductive health, mental health, physical health & nutrition, substance abuse, and healthy relationships. INSPIRE will serve as a broad-based, coordinated community effort to promote teen health and wellness in the Southern Tier.
